Terms of Service
Effective October 10, 2026
The short version: Sayrova helps you write by voice. You own what you dictate. Every new account gets a free trial, and you're never charged unless you choose to subscribe. Please review text before you send it, because AI can make mistakes. Use Sayrova lawfully and don't abuse the service.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Christopher Lind, who operates Sayrova (“Sayrova,” “we,” “us”). They cover the Sayrova apps for Windows and Android, the Sayrova service and this website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use Sayrova
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sayrova. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they must agree to these terms for you, including for any purchase.
3. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. You're responsible for activity on your Sayrova account and for keeping your devices and Google account secure. Tell us right away at hello@sayrova.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Free trial
New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the full Service. No payment card is required, and the trial does not turn into a paid subscription on its own: when it ends, you can choose to subscribe or simply stop. The trial includes up to 10 hours of dictation. One trial per person.
5. Paid plans
Paid plans are not yet available. Before you can buy one, we'll show you the price, how often you'll be charged, when it renews, how to cancel and our refund policy, and we'll ask for your clear agreement. You'll be able to cancel online at any time. These terms will be updated with the details before paid plans launch.
6. Fair use
Sayrova is for personal and professional dictation by one person per account. To keep the Service reliable and affordable for everyone, accounts have reasonable usage limits (for example, a monthly ceiling on hours of audio well above normal use), and we may limit unusually heavy or automated use.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or to harass, deceive or harm others;
- record or transcribe other people without the consent the law requires where you are;
- access the Service other than through our apps, or copy, resell, reverse-engineer or overload it;
- get around usage limits or share an account; or
- use the Service to create content that violates the policies of our AI provider, Anthropic.
We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated violations.
8. Your content
What you dictate, and the text Sayrova produces from it, belongs to you. You give us permission to process it only as needed to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't keep it on our servers.
9. AI output: please review
Sayrova uses speech recognition and AI to transcribe and clean up your words. It is usually accurate, but it can make mistakes, such as mishearing a word, dropping or changing something, or formatting text in a way you didn't intend. Review text before you send or rely on it, especially for anything important, such as medical, legal, financial or safety-related content. Sayrova is a writing aid, not a certified transcription service.
10. Using your own API keys
If you choose the advanced option to use your own Soniox or Anthropic keys, your use of those services is under your own agreements with them, and you're responsible for any charges they bill you.
11. Third-party services and open source
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Soniox, Anthropic, Cloudflare and Google. We aren't responsible for their services, which have their own terms. The Sayrova apps include open-source software, including software from the Handy project (MIT License). The licenses are included in the apps.
12. Changes and availability
Sayrova is a new product, and we'll keep improving it. We may add, change or remove features. We'll try to keep the Service available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we make important changes to these terms, we'll update the date above and let account holders know before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Sayrova after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Sayrova at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the Service. If we shut the Service down, we'll give reasonable notice.
14. Disclaimers
Except as required by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sayrova won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Alabama, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before filing a claim, please contact us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly by email.
